QA/QC Assistant

Our client, based in Wynard, Stockon on Tees, are a long established leading stockist and supplier of pipe, fittings, flanges, valves, and associated products to industries including oil, gas, power, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, water & gas utilities, marine and nuclear. They are recruiting for a QA/QC Assistant. This role is admin orientated.
They operate Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) Management Systems in accordance with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 and is committed to continual improvement. Customer requirements and customer satisfaction.

The advertised role is a new role to assist group management with the day-to-day involvement in QA/QC processes and is an ideal position for someone looking to start or continue their career in quality with opportunities for training and continual professional development.

Job Scope:
Reporting to the Project Technical Manager and will be employed within the Quality Management System Department. The role will include but not limited to the following activities:

  • Documentation reviews against various requirements.
  • Compiling and submitting client documentation packs.
  • Involvement in client inspections.
  • Liaising with companies such as Inspection agencies, NDT service suppliers etc.
  • Completing and reporting of internal test activities

Skills / Competency:
Essential:
o Strong knowledge and application of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
o Good overall IT skills (some of the activities will involve the use of a company specific software system in which training will be provided.)
o Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
o Able to work in a team as well as independently.
o Versatile and willing to learn.
o Attention to detail.

  • Desirable (although full training will be provided to suitable candidate):

o Experience of pipe fittings and flanges material standards.
o Experience of QA / QC.

Training: Training will be provided on company-specific systems and required Quality-related qualifications if not already held.
Duration: Permanent
Working Hours: Monday - Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a flexible one-hour lunch
An amount of overtime working may be required and possibly travel to suppliers / clients as directed and agreed with the Project Technical Manager.
