Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of financial controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Support compliance with accounting standards (UK GAAP), tax regulations, and internal policies. Help prepare for audits and ensure timely submission of financial reports.
- Conduct regular monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and assist with the resolution of discrepancies.
- Assist with internal audits, providing necessary documentation and supporting evidence for compliance reviews.
- Assist with KYC submissions, VAT submissions, sales tax compliance within the US
- Assist with the annual and quarterly budgeting and forecasting process in relation to capex as well as input into group cashflow forecasting
- Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information flow, promoting a culture of financial accountability.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance function, contributing to increased efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA/CIMA.
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within the hospitality industry (however not necessary)
- Strong understanding of financial control and compliance requirements.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Dynamics Business Central is advantageous) and Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Jet Reporting
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
