Senior Business Development Executive (Maritime) - International Law Firm

An exciting opportunity has arisen within a rapidly expanding international law firm who require a Senior Business Development Executive to join their close-knit and highly-regarded team to support the delivery of BD and marketing activities for the Maritime sector.

The firm's impressive year-on-year growth is almost entirely the result of a focused strategy, strong leadership and the quality of its people. The Business Development and Communications department comprises over 50 business development, marketing and communications professionals across the globe. As the firm's route to market is through global sectors and clients are international, team members regularly collaborate to deliver cross-border campaigns and global projects. The firm have one of the largest dedicated maritime legal practices in the world. This role will be a key part of the London Transport Business Development team and one which shapes the strategy for the firm's market leading Maritime sector, including supporting associated ground-breaking thought leadership projects and associated marketing campaigns. You will have strong leadership from the Maritime Business Development Manager and excellent support from a Business Development Assistant, as well as a team of Legal PAs who support the Maritime partners on a range of administrative tasks and document production. Though focused on the London Maritime group, you will work closely with Maritime partners and Business Development colleagues globally on a regular basis. The role will be broad in nature and will require a self-motivated person who will support in the management of existing client relationships and the development of new business opportunities across the global Maritime sector. The Senior Business Development Executive's main responsibilities will include drafting and implementing business and marketing plans; developing campaigns to grow new and existing business; and working on pitches and credentials statements, capturing and reviewing deal and pitch content ensuring information is available on all global databases. On the marketing side, the successful applicant will coordinate and draft directory submissions, league tables and awards, coordinate events and conference attendance and champion the use of digital platforms and social media to raise the profile of the partners, practice and firm.

A positive role model who meets new challenges with a constructive and open mind and shows enthusiasm for new opportunities and ideas, the ideal candidate will possess proven business development experience gained whilst working in a professional services environment, ideally legal, to include past success in pitch and credentials development. With a strong ability to understand product, sector and service development issues, the Senior Business Development Executive must have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and excellent writing, editing and presentation skills allied to high attention to detail and the tenacity to see projects and tasks through to successful completion.
