Location: Cardiff, Wales. Hybrid - minimum of 1 day a week on site.

The Director of People & Organisational Development (OD) is a pivotal leadership role, both organisationally and nationally within Wales. This position involves shared corporate responsibility with other Board members for the strategic direction, policy making, and achievement of DHCW's objectives. The Director will join the organisation at an exciting time leading the introduction of the Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) framework for NHS Wales, supporting the establishment of the organisation's new operating model. They will also foster new ways of working, and cultivate a positive, inclusive culture, leading values, compassionate leadership, equality, diversity, and inclusion initiatives. DHCW are a values led organisation.
Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, or equivalent senior level experience.
  • In depth professional knowledge across a range of disciplines in Human Resources e.g., organisational design and delivery (workforce redesign), programme management, Organisational Development, HR, employment law, financial management, strategic planning and corporate leadership within the context of people management as a member of the SHA board.
  • Chartered Fellow (FCIPD) or willingness to obtain within 18 months.
  • Demonstrable leadership experience in large scale organisational workforce redesign and successful delivery.
  • Political awareness and experience dealing with complex issues in a demanding environment.
  • Proven leadership and influencing skills with excellent communication capabilities.
