Group Financial Controller

An international, fashion FMCG brand based in London is currently seeking a new Group Financial Controller to join the team.

This is an integral role in the finance team, managing a team of 15 people and reporting into the CFO. Responsibilities include:

  • Manage, develop and oversee the Financial Control team across management accounts and transactional finance across the UK and US
  • Partner with the Commercial Finance team to plan and deliver finance activities and reporting.
  • Ensure robust financial controls and reporting are in place.
  • Define and develop finance dashboards to manage reporting and contribute towards decision making.
  • Ownership of the Management Accounts process, ensuring they are accurate and on time.
  • Analysis of revenue recognition and preparation of the monthly management pack with commentary and analysis.
  • Oversight and authorisation of month end journal postings, balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Cash flow management, including reporting and forecasting.
  • Ownership of tax processes, including computations and payments, transfer pricing, country specific needs and liaising with external tax advisors.
  • Contribute to the Group Budget and Reforecasts Strategic Planning process.
  • Authorisation of credit limits for customers and ensuring appropriate letters of credit are in place pre-shipping.
  • Key contact for Due Diligence and data requests from auditors and banks.
  • Lead the banking relationships and look for possible new ways to finance the business.
  • Ensuring the appropriate FX transactions are in place, including hedging overseas currencies.
  • Maintain and develop accounting practices and procedures across the business.
  • Present to the business on high level financial performance to contribute to leadership team opportunities.
  • Supporting the roll-out of a new finance system upgrade
  • Ad-hoc duties, analysis, and project work to assist the CFO and wider team and business.

Ideally this candidate will be ACA qualified, with post qualified experience working within FMCG, retail or ecommerce. Prior experience working in an international business is highly beneficial, and candidates must have strong team management skills with the ability to recruit, lead and motivate team members. Candidates should be commercial minded, with a positive can-do attitude and strong attention to detail. Strong technical and reporting experience is essential, with the ability to communicate well with stakeholders at all levels.
