Grafton Recruitment are delighted to be working with a global manufacturing business, based in the Midlands, who are looking for a Head of Sales to join their team. Our client is looking to speak with candidates who have a background in workholding engineering to oversee their sales operations, whilst fostering relationships with key accounts and stakeholders.

As Head of Sales, your responsibilities will include identifying and pursuing new business opportunities with the goal of expanding key accounts across the UK and internationally.

THE ROLE:

Some of your responsibilities as a Head of Sales:

  • Provide leadership and development for the external sales team.
  • Prepare sales forecasts and reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis and analyse revenue streams in order to inform future business decisions
  • Ensure that all sales are delivered in a timely manner, within the agreed scope and budget.
  • Prioritise the enhancement of customer relationships, with a particular focus on key accounts.
  • Establish sales objectives in collaboration with distributors.
  • Prepare tenders and quotes for new business opportunities.
  • Create comprehensive project plans and monitor progress.
  • Attend business events and exhibitions with the objective of securing new clients and growing existing ones.
  • Present suitable technical solutions to meet customer requirements and secure long-term commitments.
  • It is crucial to gain a comprehensive understanding of customers' businesses and their specific requirements through effective questioning and regular updates to the system.

THE CANDIDATE:

  • The ideal candidate will have experience in engineering workholding.
  • Knowledge of market and current industry trends.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to think strategically and plan effectively.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and drafting technical drawings.
  • A strong result-oriented approach and the ability to achieve sales targets.
  • Proven track record of leading a sales team.
  • Openness to traveling within the UK and internationally.
