Financial Controller Hybrid

Our London-based client is actively in search of a Financial Controller to join their team, on a permanent basis. This is a great opportunity for Qualified Accountants with 1-2 years of industry experience in a similar role to advance their careers. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, VAT, and financial analysis techniques.

This role is based in Clapham Junction and offers hybrid working.

Responsibilities of the Financial Controller will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Assist in deploying the new group ERP tool, MS Dynamics
  • Manage the system for month-end closing and monthly reporting
  • Help streamline processes to achieve a 3-day close
  • Analyse key month-end figures and resolve issues with stakeholders
  • Support the Finance Director in developing a consolidated accounting platform in TM1/Cognos
  • Develop and implement an internal audit mechanism to ensure compliance with accounting policies
  • Maintain relationships with external auditors
  • Collaborate with the Group Finance Ops Manager to optimise margins and minimise fee leakage
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities, oversee cashflow processes, and support growth investments
  • Develop a global cashflow management process with the group treasurer
  • Assist with key finance projects to update and renew the Finance department structure

The successful Financial Controller will require the following skills and experience:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics (desirable)
  • 1-2 years of industry experience in a similar fast-paced, high-volume, service industry role; travel industry experience is a plus
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, VAT, and financial analysis techniques
  • Proficient in financial modelling, group consolidation, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Experience in streamlining and modernising processes and functions
  • Knowledge of TM1/Cognos (desirable)
  • Advanced Excel modelling skills
