E-Commerce Trading Lead

Salary: £40,000 - £44,000 PLUS bonus earning potential

Contract: Full time (35 hours per week, 8am - 4pm OR 9am - 6pm, Monday - Friday)

Location: Milton Keynes/Hybrid - 2 days office-based, 3 days from home per week*.

*This may be more regularly during some of our busier, peak periods (up to 4 days per week on occasion) but you can expect to work from the office 1 to 2 days per week regularly.

About the Role

You'll have a background in digital trading, with a data-focused mind and you'll be looking to make an impact in a fast-paced digital environment. As an E-Commerce Lead, you'll bring your experience in optimising websites through trading, merchandising, site analytics & SEO to paint a clearer picture of sales and product performance to the Homebase website.

You will deliver the strategic digital intent in line with the Commercial range and trade plan, as well as focus on continuous development and optimisation across a key trading category. You will have experience of stakeholder management within a digital environment, understanding the different approaches needed across different trading categories, ensuring deadlines are met and a pro-active approach is a must.

It goes without saying that you'll live and breathe all things e-commerce and be excited by pushing boundaries to put the Homebase customer at the forefront of our digital strategy.

What will you be doing?

(Including but not limited to)

  • End-to-end ownership of a digital category including, online merchandising, range launches, product lifecycle, pricing and promotion management, and digital category deep dives.
  • Management of on-site merchandising and promotions for your category, reacting to performance signals and proposing new opportunities and solutions for the Commercial teams.
  • Report on category digital sales, KPIs, and promotions in daily, weekly, and monthly trading meetings.
  • Ownership of category optimisation in conjunction with the Digital Experience Team to increase conversion, basket size, and AOV
  • Identify opportunities within the category to build on successes within our paid acquisition channels
  • Work alongside our SEO agency and content teams to support both the overall and category-specific SEO strategy.
  • Ensure easy and frictionless customer journeys across your category

  • Good interpersonal skills - you'll have the opportunity to influence the strategic direction of the business

  • Hands-on, comfortable with the ‘doing' – you'll be happy getting stuck-in to any task
