Salary: £24,739

Working Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm

LTF Recruitment are looking to appoint a campus safety liaison officer to work in a college based in Birmingham, B4.

Role : To deliver a first-class Security and wellbeing service to all staff, students and visitors, monitoring all areas of the college and intervening with challenging behaviours where needed.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Enhance day-to-day public relations by providing information and assistance to students, staff and the public
  • To patrol the College building(s) at agreed times and monitor the recreational areas of the College
  • Assist the Campus Safety Team in immediately responding to any emergency situations
  • Record all incidents daily through appropriate College systems
  • Assist certificated employees with preventive discipline by explaining College rule, risks and unacceptable behaviour to students and parents or guardians
  • To assist the Campus Safety Supervisor with designing a system of work that provides proactive action for students and to intervene with student behaviours
  • To lead on the development and operation of the student intervention process; liaising with curriculum, student experience and enrichment teams
  • To identify trends in student behaviours and implement agreed activities and processes to reduce student disciplinaries
  • To monitor and report on levels of student disciplinaries
  • To assist the Campus Safety Team with any aspects of their job role as required by the Campus Safety Supervisor
  • Prevent unauthorised individuals' and non-students who come onto site

Role Requirements:

  • Ability to check Identification confirming their validation plus reaffirm security protocols to those unaware (Ready, Respectful & Safe)
  • Take responsibility for their personal development through meetings with your line manager and all mandatory training completed
  • Ability to resolve incidents and issues whilst still acting in a professional manner
  • Ability to de-escalate situations, working with challenging individuals
