£225 per day, Outside IR35

3 month contract (Potential to extend)

Full time (1 day in Reading & 1 in Bristol)

My Client is a Marketing Agency looking for a Social Media Manager to help them manage the social media accounts for two prominent shopping centres based in Reading and Bristol. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, curating, and managing content across multiple platforms, engaging with the local communities, driving foot traffic to the centres, and increasing brand awareness.

You will be reporting into the Head of Social

The Role

  • Content Creation & Management: Develop, design, and schedule engaging content (photos, videos, graphics, blogs) tailored to the audiences of each shopping centre.
  • Platform Management: Manage social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and others relevant to the target audience.
  • Campaigns & Promotions: Plan and execute social media campaigns that promote events, store openings, seasonal sales, and special offers across both centres.
  • Community Engagement: Respond to comments, messages, and reviews in a timely and professional manner, fostering a positive and active online community.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Monitor social media performance using tools like Facebook Insights, Google Analytics, and others, reporting on KPIs such as engagement, reach, follower growth, and conversion rates.
  • Brand Voice Consistency: Ensure the tone, voice, and messaging of the shopping centres are consistent across all platforms.
  • Collaborations: Work closely with centre managers, store owners, and external vendors to promote joint events and cross-promotional activities.
  • Local Trends & Influencers: Stay updated on local trends and collaborate with local influencers and bloggers to drive awareness and engagement.
  • Paid Social Media Advertising: Develop and manage paid social campaigns to boost visibility, engagement, and conversions for key events and promotions.
  • Crisis Management: Handle any social media-related issues or crises promptly and professionally, liaising with management when needed.

You

  • Proven experience as a Social Media Manager, preferably in the retail or shopping centre industry.
  • Ability to travel to Bristol & Reading
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and tools.
  • Experience with content creation tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar.
  • Ability to analyse performance metrics and adjust strategies to improve results.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Creativity and a passion for storytelling.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with the Reading and Bristol areas is a plus.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in retail or event marketing.
  • Knowledge of SEO and content marketing strategies.
  • Video editing skills for short-form social media content.
