Elevation Recruitments Skilled Shop Floor Team are currently working partnership with a precision engineering business that deal with hard to manufacture, critical and high-integrity components from exotic alloys and specialist materials for the most demanding applications.

Due to expansion, they are looking to add a CNC Turner to their facility in Sheffield.

CNC Turner

Working Hours: 40 hours per week

The successful CNC Turner must be flexible to work the following shift patterns: Combination of days and evenings, rotating every 2 weeks.

Days: 6am – 2.20pm
Lates: 4pm – 2.20am

The business is currently running on days only, but the shift pattern will likely be implemented in the next few weeks.

Hourly Rate: £18.06 p/h on Days / £27.09 p/h on Evenings

Salary: £37,596 - £45,782

Overtime: Paid at time and ½.

Key Responsibilities of a CNC Turner:

  • Competent operation of machine tools in accordance with work instructions and safe operation practice as appropriate
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings to a high standard; demonstrating understanding of surface finish requirements, geometric and dimensional tolerances
  • Create, download, edit, archive, read and interpret CNC programs.
  • Demonstrable ability to set components and machines, with consideration for best production route and any potential negative impact to quality requirements
  • Ability to apply appropriate tooling and cutting methods considering the stability of the component set up and its composition
  • Appropriate selection and accurate use of inspection equipment used to measure components throughout the manufacturing process
  • Communicate any potential process improvement opportunities to direct supervisor for approval and capture
  • Accurate completion of any records you are required to complete i.e. recording labour bookings, set up sheets etc
  • Demonstrate engagement with other team members
  • Maintain machinery and work area in accordance with daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance schedules
  • Any reasonable requests made by the management team or direct supervisor
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to Quality, Health, Safety and the Environment
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, and lead by example to ensure company goals are achieved and exceeded
  • Follow all Company policies and procedures

Skills & Experience of a CNC Turner:

  • Experience of working within Precision Machining
  • High level of attention to detail with ability follow quality standards
  • Must have experience with Fanuc or Heidenhain control
