What you'll do:
- Deliver personalised 1:1 support to children with SEN, facilitating their access to the curriculum and full participation in learning activities.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching methods to suit each child's needs.
- Observe and document the children's progress, sharing insights with teachers and parents to promote continuous development.
- Prepare educational materials and set up learning environments that are conducive to the needs of children with SEN.
- Foster social and emotional growth by providing a secure, nurturing setting for learning.
- Engage with SENCOs, therapists, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for the children's educational and developmental requirements.
What you'll need:
- Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with SEN children.
- Knowledge of the EYFS/KS1 curriculum and an understanding of the unique needs of young learners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and children.
- A patient, empathetic, and positive disposition, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of children with SEN.
- Relevant educational or SEN support qualifications are preferred. (Level 3 early years or supporting teaching and learning qualifications are desirable.)
