Data Governance Analyst

Joining our Technology & Data team, the Data Governance Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the effective management of data assets across the organisation. You'll be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

You'll be leading our data quality initiatives, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of our data assets, and work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to identify and prioritise data quality issues, develop and implement data quality improvement plans, and monitor and report in data quality metrics.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have proven experience in a data governance or related role.
  • Have a proven track record of delivery outcomes to required standards.
  • Have a detailed understanding of data quality and data integrity issues, their causes and remedies.
  • Have experience with data governance frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001.
  • Be able to analyse and manipulate data using SQL.
  • Be able to utilise PowerBI to present dashboards and reports.
  • Be skilled in data visualization, able to create clear, understandable visualisations.
  • Be able to utilise DevOps to manage delivery of data governance outcomes.
  • Understand typical metadata management issues.
  • Have technical and business analysis experience.
  • Be an advocate for data quality and have an understanding of data quality improvement practices.
  • Have a strong understanding of data quality principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Have experience with data integration tools such as ETL and data analytics platforms such as Tableau.
  • Have experience with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum.
  • Have had some exposure in Operational Business Intelligence and Management Information solutions and Strategic BI solutions.
  • Be comfortable working under pressure to accommodate multiple deadlines.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, influencing and persuading skills.
  • Be enthusiastic to learn new tools and techniques.
