job Title: Financial Accountant / Finance Business Partner (6-Month Maternity Cover)
Location: Luton
Duration: 6 months (Maternity Cover)
Rate: £18.50 - £23.00 per hour
Standard Hours: 37 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Days (5 days per week)
Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 7:30 AM - 4:15 PM & Friday: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial data to ensure Programme P&L and balance sheet positions are correctly reflected.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory management, running reports to summarize positions, and reconcile at month-end to align with the general ledger.
- Month-End Close: Support a 3-day month-end close process.
- Data Management: Assist with collating data and inputting it into OneStream.
- Capital Expenditure: Support internal Capital Expenditure and Cost Centre reviews.
- Asset Management: Manage and verify assets on a cyclical basis, including take-on and disposals.
- Journal Entries: Prepare and post monthly accruals, prepayments, and team journals.
- Audit Support: Support balance sheet reconciliations and internal/external audit reviews.
- Intercompany Reconciliation: Prepare and reconcile intercompany balances for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Balance Sheet Management: Ensure that balance sheet positions are reconciled, understood, and that aged or judgmental items are actioned.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- VAT & Tax Analysis: Assist with VAT and Tax pack analysis.
- Process Improvement: Drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices.
- Accounts Payable Oversight: Oversee the Accounts Payable function and maintain up-to-date ledgers.
- Reporting: Complete daily and monthly KPIs, manage timesheets, and various other reports.
- SAP Maintenance: Responsible for all cost centre/project owners and maintenance within the SAP system, assisting with movements and updates as required.
Experience/Skills Required:
- ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified or part qualified.
- Extensive experience with SAP FI/CO modules is desirable.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to work independently.
- Experience in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
- Understanding of budgets, product costing, financial controls, and reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Forward-thinking with strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Ability to react quickly and reorganize workload when necessary.
