Salary: £29,292 per annum

The Forward Trust is a fast-growing Matrix Standard, ERSA Employability Awards 2020 Highly Commended vocational training, skills and employability provider. We are delivering ESFA (Adult Education Provision). As part of our growth plans including Adult Education Budget, we are looking for experienced, enthusiastic and committed Trainer/Tutor to deliver amazing vocational training, teaching, assessment, employability skills and customer service skills to our learners.

What you will be doing

As Trainers working to our Operational Manager you will teach, educate, assess and provide pastoral support to our learners, often unemployed or NEET and ensure they complete their qualifications with us and progress on their career journeys into work, apprenticeships or higher-level studies. You will be part of a team that supported over 300 learners or clients in Kent, working with often challenging learners including those with a low level of prior education. Our services in 2020 produced overall achievement rates of 90% plus. You will also work on our One File, Skills Forward, Kudos AD and PICS systems and want to achieve high standards of compliance and quality. We want Trainers who do more than just `tick boxes' or just go through the motions. We want Trainers who will inspire and motivate our learners and expect great things from them.

What we are looking for

We are looking for energetic, enthusiastic individuals with experience of teaching and training in a post 16 setting. It will be a bonus if you have worked on ESFA, devolved AEB, DWP or equivalent skills/ employability payment by results contracts. As a Trainer you must be committed to delivering high quality information, advice and guidance and progressing clients or learners into good quality employment, apprenticeships and Further Education, that will help them succeed in their lives. You must be able to work collaboratively and creatively with our Quality and Compliance and employer engagement teams.

Person specification

  • Experience of post 16 year old/AEB teaching, assessing and working within the Ofsted EIF framework
  • Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training
  • Qualification in assessing accredited provision.
  • You will need to have experience of using e portfolios, virtual learning environments and management information system
  • You will need to be able to manage caseloads and work on a payment by results contract- keen to exceed performance targets
  • Be open to observations of teaching, learning and assessment by our staff and external consultants
  • Experience of working with local authorities, VCSE, Job Centre Plus, employers and other strategic partners
  • Member of the Institute of Employability Professionals
