Position: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Belshill, UK

Job Description: Are you a talented Quantity Surveyor looking for your next challenge? Play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of our clients projects. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, managing the commercial aspects and ensuring cost efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
  • Monitor project costs and expenditures to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Conduct regular valuations and assessments of work done.
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiations, and contracts.
  • Identify and assess variations to contracts and implement cost control measures.
  • Prepare and submit monthly cost reports and financial forecasts.
  • Collaborate with project teams to resolve commercial and contractual issues.
  • Provide expert advice on commercial strategies and risk management.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and relevant industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and procurement processes.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., MS Excel, cost estimating software).
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies (e.g., RICS) is desirable.
