Head of HR and Compliance

Reed HR are seeking a Head of HR and Compliance Manager to join our clients growing business on a full time and permanent basis. This role will oversee and ensure the effective management of the businesses HR policies, health & safety, quality management, environmental management, and company social responsibility & ethics.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations, leading training and development, and managing various accreditation processes.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Develop, implement, and review HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment legislation.
  • Lead recruitment strategies, employee appraisals, and the reward and remuneration process.
  • Manage disciplinary, dismissal, redundancy, and employee exit processes.
  • Oversee employee welfare, relations, and possible TUPE requirements.
  • Produce and review health & safety policies, ensuring compliance with regulations and conducting investigations into non-compliance and accidents.
  • Lead safety training, manage outsourced training requirements, and advise on health & safety regulatory developments.
  • Develop and manage the company's quality management systems, including leading internal quality audits.
  • Ensure environmental compliance, develop management systems, and lead initiatives to reduce the company's environmental impact.
  • Manage company social responsibility and ethics, ensuring compliance with regulations such as the Modern Slavery Act and maintaining SEDEX membership.
  • Oversee GDPR compliance and manage related processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in HR and compliance management.
  • Knowledge of employment legislation, health & safety regulations, and quality and environmental management systems.
  • Experience with ISO9001 and ISO14001 accreditation processes (or similar).
  • Familiarity with GDPR and other relevant compliance regulations.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.
