We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial Contract Lawyer to join our legal team, reporting into the Legal Services Function Solicitor.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate, relevant, and timely advice to the business and other colleagues on a variety of legal topics that relate to the business sector and their services.
  • Draft, review, and lead negotiations upon various commercial contracts and agreements, including those with suppliers, B2B clients, B2C customers and other parties.
  • Maintain and review a library of the commercial contracts and agreements relevant to the business and advise the leadership team of relevant key events.
  • Manage and mitigate legal risks including the design and implementation of Company policies and procedures and claims management.
  • Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements that apply to the business.
  • Promote legal, compliance and risk management best practice throughout the Company.
  • Communicate, manage, and collaborate with clients, suppliers and third-party organisations, including regulatory bodies, external lawyers and auditors.
  • Design and support delivery of legal training to the business and colleagues, including line management of Legal Services' trainees.
  • Staying up-to-date with changes to legislation, particularly in relation to legal and regulatory requirements that directly affect the business and the survey and valuation sector.
  • Provide wider legal support to the Company and where requested the Group, for example the handling of claims against the business.

Principal attributes:

  • Solicitor (or equivalent), ideally with c. 5 years plus PQE
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Strong communication & presentation skills at all organisation levels
  • Collaborative and team-orientated
