Based in Watford, Hertfordshire our award-winning client are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their growing team on temp to perm basis, based in their offices 5 days per week.
This job would be suitable for someone currently studying towards an accountancy qualification with a definitive study plan. They will be responsible for reconciling accounts, managing payroll and preparing financial reports, supporting the finance department.

The successful individual will have previous accounting experience, preferably on AS400, with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. They must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and comfortable in liaising with all levels both in and outside of finance. Good Excel and Word skills are required for this role, and ability to pick up new systems.
Job responsibilities:
- Process relevant payments via Bacs, Wire transfers, SEPA & cheques in various currencies three times a week.
- Processing and allocating manual payments.
- Upload & check vendors for compliance purposes.
- Maintain and reconcile Sterling, Euro and Dollar cash book.
- Prepare currency projections.
- Assist in coding vendor invoices.
- Preparation of period end journals.
- Assisting with product liability insurances for Vendor maintenance.
- Periodic reporting and preparing period-end balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare and check expense vendor set ups documentation for Vendor maintenance.
- Routing vendor invoices to the appropriate budget holders and ensuring these have been approved on a timely basis ready for payment.
