The Role:

University College Birmingham is an agile and diverse institution right in the heart of the city and we currently have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Student Engagement Lead to join our professional team.

This role will support the delivery of the new Higher-Level Skills Match (HLSM) Plus project, funded by the Birmingham Enterprise Zone via Birmingham City Council, which will help local companies secure the skills they need to sustain economic growth by recruiting and retaining more local graduates.

We are delivering HLSM Plus as a partner to a project led by Birmingham City University. Other partners to the project are Aston University, and the University of Birmingham, with full endorsement from the Graduate Re-Tune programme and its delivery partners: Department for Work and Pensions' (DWP) Birmingham and Solihull Jobcentre Plus District (JCP), and Prospects, the National Careers Service contractors for the West Midlands.

Working with a multi-institutional team, the Student Engagement Lead will be educated to at least minimum level 3 or equivalent and will link students and graduates from University College Birmingham to opportunities sourced by the projects' Employer Engagement Leads, across all project partners. You will work closely with the projects Employer Engagement Lead to match graduates and students to job vacancies within the Birmingham Enterprise You will be responsible for coordinating a proactive approach to support local and recent graduates to secure and retain graduate level employment, with a particular focus on disadvantaged graduates, registered with the DWP accessing support from the JCP. This role will specifically support unemployed graduates from a number of universities in the local area.

You will be based at the City Centre Campus in Birmingham and will need to travel to other locations when required.
