ZG Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Waking Night Family Assessment Residential Support Worker. Are you looking for a new challenge? Do you enjoy working with families and children who have a range of complex needs? We have an exciting opportunity for a caring and compassionate individual to lead our Family Residential Centre as a Waking Night Support Worker, on a full-time permanent basis.
The role carries an enhancement in the form of an allowance in recognition to the unsociable hours element of the role.
Service overview; the service is currently on an exciting and innovative journey alongside Leicestershire County Council to deliver a range of children's homes for the most vulnerable children & young people in Leicestershire.
It has 3 self-contained flats with the capacity to house up to 3 families at any one time. Families utilising this type of service may include parents with moderate to high learning needs, those presenting with issues around domestic violence, and or substance/alcohol misuse. Additionally, they may have experienced mental ill health and/or trauma. During their stay, the parents will be supported in their parenting by our team, whilst being assessed by Leicestershire County Council Children's Service.
Our team is supportive in its approach, with our primary aim revolving around promoting best practices, through guidance, role modelling, key work sessions and practical advice on matters relating to concerns, risk, safety, routines, and boundaries.
Some of the responsibilities of the Waking Night Family Assessment Residential Support Worker include but are not limited to:
- To build trust and develop nurturing relationships which promote the service user's independence, wellbeing, strengths, and capabilities.
- To work in partnership and build relationships with parents/carers and other professionals.
- To contribute to the upkeep of the home including cooking, cleaning etc.
- To document information accurately and ensure records are kept up to date.
- To ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to.
- To promote, monitor and maintain a safe environment at all times.
Essential requirements to evidence in your written application for our Waking Night Family Assessment Residential Support Worker:
- Must hold the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare OR be willing to successfully achieve this within the required timeframe.
- Relevant experience working with children & young people in a children's home setting.
- Flexibility to commit to shift work, including weekends and bank holidays.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- There is an expectation for night staff to make themselves available during the day with advance notice at scheduled times to attend mandatory training and ongoing group supervision and consultation in line with duties related to their role.
