Role Overview:
As the Premises Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep, security, and general maintenance of our school premises. This is a key role that ensures our facilities are safe, clean, and ready for the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out daily inspections of the school premises to identify maintenance needs and ensure a safe environment.
- Perform general maintenance tasks, including minor repairs, painting, and gardening.
- Oversee the security of the school site, including the opening and closing of the school buildings.
- Manage the school's waste disposal, recycling, and general cleanliness.
- Coordinate with external contractors for larger repairs and maintenance projects.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across the premises.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed.
- Monitor and maintain the heating, lighting, and alarm systems.
- Support school events by preparing and setting up facilities as required.
About You:
- Experience in a similar role, ideally within an educational setting.
- Strong practical skills, with the ability to carry out basic maintenance and repairs.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to work well with staff, students, and contractors.
