Role Overview

The Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer designs, implements, and maintains cloud and infrastructure services, focusing on efficiency, reliability, security, and performance. Key responsibilities include managing cloud environments, network topology, next-gen firewalls, and security platforms. The role involves deploying and operating cloud-based services, optimizing costs, and automating tasks. Additionally, the engineer mentors team members and provides 3rd line technical support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cloud Management: Provision, configure, and maintain cloud resources.
  • Performance Monitoring: Implement monitoring solutions and optimize performance.
  • System Reliability: Ensure high availability and data integrity through proactive measures.
  • Incident Management: Resolve major incidents and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices and ensure compliance.
  • Disaster Recovery: Design and implement DR plans.
  • Automation: Create and maintain automation scripts for consistency.
  • Collaboration & Documentation: Work with cross-functional teams and maintain documentation.
  • Cost Optimization: Analyze cloud usage and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest technologies and propose enhancements.
  • Onboarding & Integration: Assist with IT due diligence and integration of new firms.
  • Technical Support: Provide 3rd line support and accurately record issues and resolutions.

Job Requirements

  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
  • Full UK driving license and suitable transport with business insurance
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workloads
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and logical approach
  • ITIL awareness
  • Expertise in Microsoft Windows (10, 11, Server 2016/2022)
  • Proficiency in network topology and firewall management
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and Office 365
