Job title: School Administrator

Location: Hambrook School, Burgess Hill

Salary: Up to £24,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday - Friday

Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a School Administrator at Hambrook School in Burgess Hill. If you are experienced, enthusiastic, open to new ideas and have a flexible ‘can do' approach, we would welcome an application from you.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a strong team of support staff who are central to the successful communication, administration and customer service aspects of the school.

We are looking for a confident, well organised individual who has excellent administration skills to join our team. The role requires a candidate who is able to engage well with parents and our local community as well as working successfully in a team and able to work well under pressure.

About the role

To act as the initial point of contact for visitors to school in reception, meeting and greeting, manage visitor sign in.

To provide clerical and administrative support in relation to the production of specific materials, for example, newsletters, school prospectus and reports,

To carry out a range of administrative tasks, correspondence to parents, information to staff, photocopying, liaison with staff, pupils and parents.

To work as part of a team and support the roles of others at all times in providing a high-quality administrative service.

Essential:

  • GCSE, or equivalent, in English and Maths
  • Experience of reception work, preferably within an educational environment
  • A good working knowledge of effective administrative systems and processes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and confident telephone manner
  • Customer focused
  • Experience of working with highly confidential information
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills and computer literate
  • Willingness to undertake group induction training and a strong commitment to CPD
  • Commitment to the values of the organisation

*4-day working week after 3-month settling period *

About us

Hambrook School is in Burgess Hill West Sussex. We opened in September 2023 and secured an Ofsted ‘Good' rating in just 7 short months!

We help pupils excel by providing a structured, nurturing approach, alongside a broad, balanced, engaging and extraordinarily rich curriculum.

All our pupils have a diagnosis of Autism and an EHCP. We have been inundated with requests of places from Sussex and Surrey Local Authorities and therefore need additional staff to impact the lives of more pupils. We are therefore looking for the perfect person to join us for this next stage of our journey.
