GSL Education is currently seeking to appoint a Math Teacher to undertake a position at one of our client schools in Barnsley. We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Math Teacher to join our vibrant school community in Barnsley.

Job Summary

  • Clearly explain mathematical theories, principles, and applications to students at various levels.
  • Develop lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Create, administer, and grade tests, quizzes, and assignments to evaluate student understanding and progress.

Role of a math Teacher:

  • Math teachers are responsible for delivering the national curriculum for mathematics, ensuring that students are exposed to a wide range of mathematical concepts appropriate for their age and ability level.
  • They plan engaging and effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities. This involves selecting appropriate teaching methods, resources, and activities to help students grasp mathematical concepts.
  • Math teachers maintain discipline and create a positive learning environment conducive to mathematical exploration and inquiry. They manage classroom behavior and promote mutual respect among students.
  • Math teachers offer additional support to students who may be struggling with mathematical concepts. This may involve providing extra help during class, offering after-school tutoring sessions, or recommending resources for independent study.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working as a teacher within an educational setting.
  • Original or certified copies of your degree certificates relevant to teaching science (e.g., Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Education, PGCE).
  • Qualified Teacher Status certificate or evidence of completion of a recognized teacher training program.
  • Hold relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or a related field.
  • Are passionate about supporting the learning and development of student and making a positive difference in their lives.
