Operational Excellence Manager
Location: Cardiff- Site Based. Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 + Car Allowance + Package.

The Advocate group are proud to be partnered with a leading business within the FMCG space who are on a continuous growth mission. Looking for an Operational Excellence Manager to support the delivery of an agreed manufacturing vision and strategy through continuous improvement, driving out waste and variability, and creating a proactive improvement culture.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Lead lean manufacturing practices like 5S, AM, and root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement.
  • Implement and manage the medium to long-term operational excellence timetable.
  • Perform detailed gap analysis across site processes and performance.
  • Develop technical and behavioural skills within the Senior Leadership Team to foster continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate and lead projects to reduce factory costs and ensure effective use of resources.

General Responsibilities:

  • Implement lean manufacturing practices and drive continuous improvement across the site.
  • Understand and apply the Princes Manufacturing System (PMS) and Site Must Win Battle Plan.
  • Uphold company values to improve Quality, Safety, and Environmental culture.
  • Support ethical trading and human rights vision in all stakeholder engagements.

Role Requirements:

  • Experience at Senior Leadership Team (SLT) level and managing a team.
  • Proven track record in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement projects (5S, VSM, TPM, SMED, Kaizen, OEE).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to motivate, mentor, and engage teams to adopt new skills and operational practices.
  • Strong leadership, team building, coaching, and development skills.
