About the Role
Base Location:?Flexible UK | We're proud to offer a?Flexible First?approach to work, and this role is no exception. We will, however need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSE offices or depots around the UK.
Salary:?£74,660 – £112,000 + car /car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

As a senior member of the Enterprise Commercial team you will be leading the Distributed Energy (DE) Major Projects commercial team, for either North or South of the UK, reporting to the Enterprise Commercial Director to develop and implement an innovative, growth focused commercial function. You will provide leadership and direction to the DE?commercial team, within a matrix structure, and deliver the full potential of our assets while continually reviewing and developing the commercial function from pre-contract through to asset operation. You should have experience in constructing / negotiating Client agreements. You will be accountable for ensuring the commercial strategic plan is fit-for-purpose against Enterprise's overall business objectives and risk appetite.
You will be responsible for developing and supporting opportunities to maximise the earning potential and you will help deliver gross profit budgets for the business.
Your key accountabilities will be;
- Lead the commercial function and support the broader cross-functional teams to achieve the commercial goals of the Enterprise DE business.
- Oversee and have input into the negotiation of both contracts and acquisitions in order to deliver a profitable revenue growth.
- Overall responsibility for the Commercial risk of all acquisitions, projects, and supplier contracts. Provide input into the risk structure of supplier contracts led by Procurement during the source to contract process.
- Be the commercial lead on any M&A, Joint Ventures and Partnerships.
- Developing and maintaining an excellent understanding of the energy markets and all relevant third parties.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Knowledge of the energy markets and Regulation.
- Must understand contracts and their clauses and interpretation.
- Degree or Masters or equivalent qualified in relevant subject.
- Strong commercial acumen, demonstrated through career history of positions held and knowledge of diverse practices and concepts.
- Extensive experience and proven track record in commercial.
