Primary School SENCO Teaching Responsibilities

Job Title: School SENCO with Teaching Responsibilities

Location: NG6 area

Start Date: September 2024

Are you a qualified SENCO with experience leading on SEN across a school? do you have experience teaching within EYFS or happily teach in EYFS for 2-3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and stimulating lessons in line with the EYFS curriculum, tailored to the individual needs and interests of the children.
  • Leading on all things SEN across the school
  • Completed Educational Health Care Plans for all pupils in need of one across the school
  • Line manage TAs across the school and delegate them effectively
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all children feel valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.
  • Assess and monitor children's progress, providing feedback to both pupils and parents, and identifying areas for development.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to the wider school community and uphold our ethos of excellence and innovation.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with experience teaching in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • A recognised SENCO qualification
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the EYFS curriculum and its implementation.
  • Previous experience of being a SENCO and understanding of a range of needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • A proactive and creative approach to teaching, with a commitment to continuous professional development.

  • This position is a full-time role, covering a period of maternity leave, with the possibility of extension.
