Our client is on the lookout for an enthusiastic, driven AV Event Production Manager. This is a varied role supporting the warehouse, dealing with incoming hire enquiries and planning productions in conjunction with other production managers within the company. Then going out onto site and delivering events as either a Production Manager or Technician depending on skillset.

This is a key position in the business bridging the gap between warehouse, site and the office – supporting as required. No two days will be the same! This role will suit a flexible, adaptable person who is a team player and able to multi-task on a day-to-day basis. Your time would be split between being on site, supporting the warehouse and the office taking enquiries and quoting hires, and supporting production managers with production planning including venue liaison, kit list management, logistics planning and crew booking.

Ideal candidates should have great live event technical experience with a skill base across all aspects of AV equipment. The right candidate should be ambitious and able to use their own initiative to solve problems and learn about new technology. This role requires expert knowledge of AV technical software and equipment, production briefs, CAD plans and set up and de-rig of live, hybrid and virtual events. Previous experience using Current RMS would be beneficial.

Requirements / Position Responsibilities:

  • Good all-round technical knowledge to spec, design and build productions.
  • Demonstrable experience working as a Technical / Production Manager or Technician.
  • Operating and/or working on Live Events.
  • Supervising contractors and freelancers while on site during rigs, derigs and throughout events.
  • Taking client enquiries and interpreting briefs.
  • Attending site visits.
  • Full management of projects in conjunction with other production managers.
  • Exceptional client-facing skills with the ability to interpret briefs and communicate key requirements.
  • Testing equipment prior to going on site.
  • Delivering, setting-up and de-rigging AV Equipment.
  • Basic maintenance and servicing of equipment.
  • Checking and Loading/Unloading equipment.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Have a proven understanding of AV, including Sound, Lighting, Video, Projection, IT, etc, with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Have relevant hands-on experience of working onsite at live and virtual events.
  • Hold a Full UK Driving License - essential.
  • Be client facing and able to manage expectations.
  • Be able to display that you regularly use your own initiative.
  • Have experience of delivering a high-quality service to all types of clients, have excellent client facing skills and good communication skills.
  • Are a natural problem solver and strategic thinker who strives for operational and financial efficiencies.
  • Have a strong understanding of different event formats (virtual, hybrid, live) inclusive of conferences, exhibitions, road shows, production launches and large-scale festivals.
  • Are highly organised, with strong attention to detail.
  • Have been exposed to an array of AV processes, software and equipment.
  • Are a competent user of CAD/drawing software programmes.
