Commercial Sales Manager

I am seeking a Commercial Sales Manager with a strong background in the manufacturing industry to lead a growing sales team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full profit and loss (P&L) accountability, driving the commercial strategy for sales growth, and the development of the team. This role is pivotal in the process of distribution and revenue generation for the organisation across the UK and Europe.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Oversee the sales team, ensuring the achievement of sales targets and consistent, profitable growth in sales revenues.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to enhance sales performance and expand the customer base.
  • Manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities.
  • Monitor competitors' products, sales, and marketing activities.
  • Establish and manage effective programs to coach, appraise, and train sales personnel.
  • Directly responsible for the P&L of the sales department, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to market.
  • Travel as needed to meet with customers and prospects, attend conferences, and lead team meetings.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Sales Manager or similar role within the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
  • Proven leadership and ability to drive sales teams.
  • Experience with P&L management and commercial strategy development.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
