Apprentice – Business Intelligence Support Officer

Hours; Full time (37hrs per week, all year round)

Duration; Temporary (18-24 months)

Salary; £6.40 per hour (£12,313.60 per annum) + benefits

Location; Dearne Valley College, Rotherham

About the Role

This technical specialist role offers you the chance to gain significant experience and responsibility in the Management Information Services Department within a busy customer focused data and funding team, whilst working towards a Level 3 Information Communications Technician Apprenticeship.

There is a real opportunity to support and develop further the Business Intelligence systems and work with the Business Intelligence Senior Support Officer, curriculum managers and subsidiaries to support them in achieving outstanding results for students.

The Business Intelligence team play a crucial role in supporting the RNN Group deliver outstanding teaching and learning across the local area. Our role is to ensure that all college systems are performing and up to date. On top of this, we need to ensure areas have access to current relevant data to enable them to make judgements on learner performance. You will play a key role in supporting the team to achieve this.

Key duties of the role include;

  • To monitor the helpdesk to ensure that assigned ‘jobs' are swiftly resolved,
  • To remove redundant data in line with retention policy and perform annual rollover of data within the relevant college systems,
  • Taking staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the telephone, to help set up systems or resolve issues,
  • Setting up new users' accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues and deactivating users' accounts and profiles on termination of employment.

You will...

You will have an interest in computer software and have experience of using them. You will be able to work with people and have great customer service skills. You may also have work experience, either paid or voluntary within an office environment.

As part of this role you will work towards a Level 3 Digital Support Technician qualification which is an apprenticeship standard. You will have a level 2 qualification in computing or IT skills and hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths (or be willing to undertake).

As an Apprentice Business Intelligence Support Officer, you will be a key member of the Business Intelligence team, supporting systems to ensure their performance are at an optimum level at all times. You will report directly to the Business Intelligence Senior Support Officer.
