The Role

As Deputy Security Controller, you will provide security advice and support to our client's intelligence service and their projects and programmes. You will act as a focal point for stakeholders, management, and staff to ensure consistent and effective standards of information and advice, whilst ensuring a defined security policy is maintained. Working with His Majesty's Government's Security Policy Framework and that of our client, you will provide security audits via analysis, spot checks, musters, and reports to ensure the integrity of Securitas's service provisions, and the inviolability of our client's operations.

Maintaining excellent client relations via your team and your actions, you will effectively manage the day-to-day activities of your team alongside demonstrating your expertise via advisory and practical support for our client. Through fostering a positive work environment for all, you will make sure all systems are maintained and updated in accordance with Securitas' high standards of delivery, as well as that of our client.

Furthermore, as Deputy Security Controller, you will:

  • Attend regular security team meetings to review progress, relationships, and policies to ensure communication is open and consistent
  • Regularly review the performance of your and your team's service provision, as well as the personal and individual performance of your team
  • Investigate incidents where they arise and identify solutions to avoid repeats of said incidents
  • Positively represent Securitas with our client and in the community at large

The role of Deputy Security Controller is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The operating hours work on a 2-week rotation as follows:

  • Week 1: Monday to Friday 08:30 to 16:30
  • Week 2: Monday to Friday 13:30 to 21:30

Essential Skills

What we need from you to become a Deputy Security Controller at Securitas

  • Relevant experience in a similar role (ideally 3+ years, however, Securitas hire on merit)
  • Hold a valid SIA licence
  • Hold British nationality for at least 10 years, and associated proof of right-to-work documentation
  • Be able to provide 10 years of checkable work history/background
  • Be willing to pass security clearance, which for this role is heightened to DV (Developed Vetting) level clearance
  • Ability to lead, motivate and manage a team
  • PC Literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other software
  • Be able to communicate clearly in written and verbal formats with both the client and Securitas
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Be able to make timely and informed decisions which you can justify
  • A flexible and responsive approach to balance changing needs, requirements, and urgencies
  • A commitment and understanding of delivering high levels of customer service
