Our partner secondary school in Prestwich is dedicated to providing a supportive and enriching learning environment for students. We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Exams Officer to join our team, ensuring the smooth administration of all internal and external examinations.

Job Description:
The Exams Officer will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of the examination process. This includes coordinating exam timetables, liaising with exam boards, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff, invigilators, and students to provide a seamless exam experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and organise all internal and external exams, including GCSEs and mock exams.
  • Liaise with exam boards and ensure accurate entries for all students.
  • Produce and distribute exam timetables to staff and students.
  • Organise invigilation schedules and manage a team of invigilators.
  • Ensure compliance with exam board regulations and school policies.
  • Manage secure storage and distribution of exam papers and materials.
  • Provide support and advice to students regarding exam arrangements.
  • Handle special consideration requests and access arrangements for students with additional needs.
  • Collect, check, and send completed exam papers to exam boards.
  • Coordinate the receipt and distribution of results.

Person Specification:
The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure. Previous experience in an exams-related role within a school or college setting is highly desirable.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience working in an administrative role, preferably in education.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office and school management systems.
  • Knowledge of JCQ regulations (desirable).
