Salary - £30,000 p/a - £32,000 p/a (Depending on Experience)

Hours - 38.75 Hours per Week, Flexible start between 07:00am and 09:30am and flexible finish times, including an early finish Friday if suitable.

Stafflex has a fantastic opportunity available with one of our well-established clients, in a new buyer role, available immediately. This role is in support of a Senior Buyer, who is looking to gain assistance in line with our client's business needs.

Key duties of the Buyer include:

  • Buying raw materials and components in a timely manner for all projects.
  • Manage purchase requisitions raised in line with financial procedures.
  • Expedite outstanding purchase orders to required schedules, notifying the Senior Buyer and relevant Project Managers where schedules are threatened.
  • Ensure all purchase orders are received and acknowledged by suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date delivery dates within ERP system.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and establish cost savings through agreements, discounts, schedules and rebates.
  • Develop relationships with suppliers to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Follow Non-Compliance Resolution process where non-conforming components are identified.
  • Liaise with suppliers to acquire certification across departments.
  • Work with Senior Buyer to manage stock contracts throughout the business.
  • Work closely with the Stores and Manufacturing teams to ensure effective flow of stock.
  • Assist with stocktakes.

Key requirements of a Project Co-ordinator include:

  • Experience working within a buying or procurement function in a purchasing environment.
  • Experience working within an Engineering or Manufacturing organisation.
  • Effective negotiation skills.
  • Understanding of ERP/MRP systems.
  • Understanding of stock control systems.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a wider organisation.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in meeting the demands of a growing business.

Knowledge of Syspro is an advantage.
