Business Development Executive
Salary: Basic £40,000 - £50,000 + Commission OTE up to £110k
Location: Office-based, commutable within Buckinghamshire area
Employment: Full-time, permanent

We are seeking a sharp, articulate Business Development Executive to join a tight-knit sales team specialising in precision solutions for clients in pharmaceutical, aerospace, defence, and polymers industries. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with PhD-level stakeholders, from cutting-edge pharmaceutical companies to elite engineering teams.
Business Development Executive Responsibilities:
- Lead proactive outbound sales activities (90-95% phone-based), identifying and securing new business opportunities
- Build strong technical relationships with clients, confidently discussing complex scientific concepts
- Present compelling proposals and handle multi-currency quotations with precision
- Attend tradeshows and occasionally travel overseas to support international business development
- Use modern sales tools and databases, including CRM systems and AI lead sourcing

Business Development Executive Requirements:
- A 2:1 or First-class university degree in a science discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, etc.)
- 2+ years of proven success in technical or scientific B2B sales
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Strong numeracy skills (GCSE Maths Grade C or equivalent) and ability to handle multi-currency quoting
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
- A full driving licence and willingness to travel internationally
- Resilience, a "hunter" mentality, and a passion for building genuine client relationships
Business Development Executive Nice to Haves:
- Experience selling into medical or healthcare sectors
- CRM experience and knowledge of additional European languages
