Head of Platform Engineering
A brilliant opportunity for a Head of Platform Engineering to join an industry-leading software house in Milton Keynes. This role offers the chance to lead an engineering team and drive the development of products and services in a fast-growing and cutting-edge cloud environment.
Location: Milton Keynes, hybrid working
Salary: £65,000 - £85,000 per annum + benefits (depending on your level of experience)
Requirements for Head of Platform Engineering:
- Significant experience in software engineering in a leadership role, working in a fast-paced, Agile development environment
- Ideally you will be degree educated
- Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and QA, to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Customer-centric approach, with a deep understanding of customer needs and expectations
- Naturally curious and analytical, with a passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement
- Strong technical skills in developing and maintaining user-friendly, responsive web applications within robust, secure, and reliable platform practices
- Strategic thinker who can help shape the direction of products and services
- High attention to detail, with high standards for end-user experiences and a strong commitment to quality
- Keen interest in understanding products and their usage, leveraging feedback and innovation to contribute to the product roadmap
- Creative problem-solver, able to anticipate and resolve performance and security issues
Responsibilities for Head of Platform Engineering:
- Lead full stack development in a cloud native environment.
- Collaborate within a truly agile cross-functional environment.
- Develop and implement software development processes and best practices to improve efficiency, quality, and scalability
- Be at the forefront of user-centered design and iterative development.
- Deliver industry-leading software solutions and ensure their successful delivery.
- Ensure high-quality products that meet customer needs.
- Keep track of product roadmaps by rationalizing requirements and planning implementation.
- Work closely with the Head of Commercial Product.
- Lead a small team of engineers, creating and maintaining a professional and driven culture.
- Ensure team members take ownership and deliver excellence.
