Attendance Officer
Location: Chesterfield, S41
£110-£125
Days: Monday - Friday, Term Time Only

Role Purpose: responsible for monitoring student attendance, identifying and addressing patterns of non-attendance, and working closely with students, parents, and staff to promote regular and punctual attendance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and record student attendance, following up on absences and communicating with parents and carers as necessary
- Identify patterns of non-attendance and work with students and their families to address underlying issues
- Collaborate with teaching and pastoral staff to support students with attendance and welfare concerns
- Maintain accurate records and produce reports on attendance and welfare issues
- Provide guidance and support to students on welfare-related matters, signposting to relevant external agencies where necessary
- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to improve attendance and promote student well-being
- Liaise with external agencies and organizations to support students' welfare needs
Key Requirements:
- Experience working in a similar role within an educational setting
- Strong understanding of attendance and welfare issues affecting young people
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and staff
- Ability to maintain accurate records and produce reports
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance relating to attendance and welfare
- A caring and empathetic approach, with a genuine passion for supporting the well-being of young people
- Relevant qualifications in education, social work, or a related field (desirable)
