Food Technology Teacher
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and qualified Food Technology Teacher to join a 'Good' Ofsted-rated secondary school located in the New Forest area, Hampshire. This role will involve teaching Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4) up to GCSE level.
The position is set to begin in January 2025 and will run on a temporary basis until July 2024, with the potential for continued opportunities.
Contract Details:
- Department: Technology (with a focus on Food Technology)
- Key Stages: KS3 & KS4, including GCSE-level teaching
- Start Date: January 2025
- Duration: Temporary contract through July 2025
- Hours: Full-time, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
- Daily Rate: From £153.00
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons for KS3 and KS4 students, preparing them effectively for GCSE exams.
- Foster a supportive, inclusive, and practical classroom environment where students can develop their culinary skills.
- Collaborate within the Technology department to ensure consistency in teaching and assessment practices.
- Provide regular feedback to students, parents, and other staff members as needed.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities offered by the school and Prospero Teaching.
Requirements
- Qualifications: QTS or ECT status, with a minimum of one year of teaching experience in UK schools.
- Specialization: Background in teaching Food Technology or a related subject.
- Skills: Strong communication, adaptability, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Compliance
- Right to Work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS certificate with child-barred list checks (on the update service or willingness to apply).
- Two recent, child-related professional references.
