Lead Software Engineer insurance

Do you enjoy working on change projects and using Agile techniques to deliver efficient solutions? We're looking to recruit a senior actuarial change developer to join Actuarial Change; part of Insurance, Pensions & Investments division. The role is on a contract basis for three months, starting in mid-September.

Role: Lead Software Engineer

Location: Bristol, 2 days per week on site required

Duration: 3-month contract

Rate: Competitive through umbrella

About the role

The main focus of the role is to support the changes required to our out of model adjustment (OOMA) process. There will also be secondary opportunities for building other process improvements and workflow management.

The role will therefore involve, designing, building and testing changes to actuarial processes. You will work within a team of Technical Leads and Product Owners that work closely together on a variety of change activities and initiatives.

About you

  • You'll have significant experience with:
  • Changes to processes and systems
  • Life insurance or pensions experience
  • Identifying key or unexpected outputs and investigating underlying issues
  • Essential: Analytical and Excel skills are essential.
  • Essential: Excellent communication skills - both oral and written
  • Desirable: Experience of the Microsoft power suite (In particular powerBI, power automate, power query & power apps)
  • Desirable: Experience of coding with other languages such as Python & R
  • Desirable: Experience of process improvement and automation
