Practice Manager

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Accountancy Practice Manager to oversee the practice operations, manage client relationships, and support the team alongside the directors of the firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and taxation, excellent management skills, and a commitment to maintaining their friendly and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Practice Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the practice.
  • Implement and maintain efficient workflows and processes alongside directors.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations alongside directors.
  • Manage and coordinate the work of junior accountants and administrative staff.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients.
  • Handle client queries and provide expert advice.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
  • Develop and grow client relationships and business opportunities.

Financial Management:

  • Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, and management accounts, corporate tax returns, VAT returns, self-assessment tax returns etc.
  • Monitor the firm's financial performance and report to senior managementalongside directors.
  • Assist with budgeting and financial planning for the practice alongside directors.

Team Development:

  • Mentor and support junior team members.
  • Provide training and development opportunities.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.

Work-Life Balance:

  • Encourage a balanced workload and manage deadlines effectively.
  • Promote a supportive and flexible working environment.
  • Implement initiatives to improve employee wellbeing.

Ideally you will be ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified.

  • Have solid experience in a similar role within an accountancy practice.
  • Strong knowledge of UK accounting and tax regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of UK regulations in relation to practice (AML, Bribery etc.)
  • Excellent management and leadership skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in accounting software and MS Office.
