We are currently recruiting for a Claims Controller (Operations) on behalf of our client, a very well established and highly regarded Lloyd's syndicate.
The key purpose of the role is to assist with and support the management and implementation of a global claims control framework, as well as supporting claims governance and compliance, ensuring adherence to global regulatory and legislative standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the implementation of the group claims strategy, in order to enable delivery of overall business targets and performance against KPIs.
- Contributing to and advising on planned developments and changes in relation to the qualitative delivery of claims performance for the business and their clients / customers.
- Investigating and resolving technical and operational issues, utilising your understanding of operational, financial, and claims data attributes and practices, across all lines of business.
- Identifying and investigating claims operational issues in order to minimise the company's liability and enhancing regulatory / financial performance.
- Managing and supporting engagement with multiple stakeholders to help resolve of issues and implement initiatives.
- Supporting the development of relationships with external suppliers, third parties, the group claims team, underwriters and operations (amongst others).
- Mitigating and managing regulatory, commercial, and operational risks.
- Acting as a referral point for members of the group claims function on controls, processes, quality assurance, audit, and due diligence.
- Supporting the global claims function in the development and delivery of service excellence via the management and delivery of - Governance & Controls; Claims Control Framework (incl. SOX controls); Quality Assurance and Audit; Thematic Reviews.
Key Requirements
- Extensive and relevant knowledge of the demands of an operationally focused role in a highly regulated environment, including experience and a deep understanding of claims, conduct, fair value, and complaints.
- Extensive experience of working with and supporting multiple lines of business across geographies with differing regulatory and legislative standards.
- An understanding of technical claims handling and the operational claims process.
- Experience and a proven track record of risk management and performance improvement via preventative and proactive controls and processes.
- In-depth experience of working in a Claims environment within a specialized/complex Claims area.
- Strong investigation and negotiation skills.
