My client, a world leader in the design and manufacture of skid-mounted rotary compressors, serving the oil/gas, chemical/petrochemical, and energy/power generation industries., is looking for a talented Sales Engineer/Tendering Engineering/Mechanical Engineer/Chemical Engineer to join their team based locally. Responsibilities:
- Provide timely, accurate quotations for compressor packages through interpretation of application requirements.
- Deal with technical and commercial queries while providing high-quality service to global customers.
- Read customers' enquiries, including data sheets, project specifications, P&IDs, and terms and conditions.
- Select appropriate materials of construction, flow control, sealing systems, lube oil systems, cooling, acoustic attenuation, and instrumentation for new compressors and compressor packages.
- Advise customers on materials and systems according to their needs.
- Perform calculations to size equipment such as compressors, motors, auxiliary systems, and components.
- Write RFQs for suppliers.
- Estimate costs and calculate selling prices.
- Write proposal documents and supporting documents for bids.
- Maintain accurate records of opportunities and bids.
- Attend meetings with customers.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in physical science, engineering, or mathematics. An honors degree in chemical engineering or mechanical engineering is preferred.
- Highly numerate with exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of rotating machinery (pumps, compressors, mechanical seals) and fluid-handling equipment (piping, valves, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, measuring instruments).
- Experience working in the engineering sector. New graduates without this experience may be considered for the position of Junior Sales Engineer.
- Commercial awareness with knowledge of sales and marketing techniques.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications, especially Excel and Project.
- Team player who is self-motivated and has a ‘can-do' attitude.
Package:
- £35,000- £43,000
- Annual pay review and individual merit award review
- Basic hours: 36.5 hours per week (Monday to Thursday - 08.30 to 17.00, Friday - 08.30 to 13.00)
