An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Transport Customer Account Manager to join a thriving logistics team. This role involves providing comprehensive support to clients, ensuring the efficient and effective management of their transport needs. The successful candidate will oversee daily transport volumes, ensuring that all deliveries are scheduled, tracked, and completed to the highest standards.

The Candidate;

  • Previous experience in a similar transport customer service role
  • Proven ability to manage and nurture client relationships, with demonstrable examples of successfully supporting client needs and expectations.
  • Practical knowledge and experience with Transport Management Systems (TMS), including STO and Order Management, for efficient transport planning and execution.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to solve complex problems, make decisions under pressure, and manage tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring data integrity and reliability in all aspects of the role.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently and professionally with colleagues and clients at all levels.
  • Understanding of transport-related costs, including haulage, demurrage, and storage, with the ability to track and manage these effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities;

  • Manage the transport requirements of assigned clients, ensuring all deliveries are planned, coordinated, and executed in line with client expectations and company standards.
  • Coordinate with Distribution Centers and subcontractors to arrange and confirm delivery schedules, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Review, verify, and process invoices, addressing and resolving any discrepancies or queries promptly.
  • Handle queries from customers, subcontract hauliers, and warehousing sites via telephone, email, and other communication channels, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and effectively.
