What you'll do:
As a Commercial Finance Assistant, you will be at the heart of our financial operations. Your primary responsibility will be understanding and managing the WIP and billing fundamentals. You will monitor profitability and budgets, prepare work-in-progress reports, and ensure recovery of committed costs. You will also support the implementation of new information systems or technologies that align with our evolving business needs. Your role will involve maintaining areas of master data in the system according to agency standards. Additionally, you will take on ad hoc financial tasks as required, contributing to our commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Understanding and managing the WIP and billing fundamentals
  • Monitoring profitability and budgets as required
  • Preparing work-in-progress reports and monitoring of WIP & billing for specified clients or divisions
  • Supporting the implementation of new information systems or technologies in line with business needs
  • Maintaining areas of master data in the system in line with agency standards
  • Performing ad hoc financial tasks as required
  • System maintenance including estimate approvals, billing profiles and job closing
  • Taking an active role in month end closedown to ensure accurate production of monthly management information data and reports
  • Monitoring fees for key clients involving analysis and reporting to track actual performance versus target

What you bring:
The ideal Commercial Finance Assistant brings a strong understanding of finance principles and practices, coupled with experience in managing WIP and billing fundamentals. You have demonstrated your ability to monitor profitability and budgets effectively, and you are proficient in preparing detailed financial reports.
