Invoicing Agent

This role ensures that invoices are generated accurately, delivered to suppliers/contractors in a timely manner, and payments are tracked and recorded properly. The Invoicing Agent also collaborates with other departments to reconcile accounts and resolve billing discrepancies.

What you'll be doing as an Invoicing Agent:

  • Liaising with the purchasing assistants for order amendments as required.
  • Reconcile supplier statements for own work allocation, resolving outstanding issues and minimising late payment charges
  • Proactively manage key accounts to ensure payments are made on time and that communication with Thames Water and the supplier is maintained
  • Resolve any issues identified by taking accountability and seeing through to a satisfactory conclusion. Where a conclusion cannot be reached, escalate to your line manager
  • Adopt best practice for invoice processing, considering things such as non-standard terms and business criticality
  • Attend meetings with the business and suppliers to define better working procedures, resolve invoice issues and payment risks
  • Provide input to the framework agreement award process to ensure correct invoicing practice is agreed prior to award and facilitate the smooth exit of the incumbent supplier

Base Location – Reading, Hybrid

Working Pattern or hours – 36 hours

What you should bring to the role:

  • Intermediate level on Microsoft applications
  • Good understanding of debits and credits
  • Knowledge of purchase order processes
  • Good communication skills
  • Some experience within purchase ledger or processing high volumes of invoices
  • Be able to build and develop relationships with stakeholders
