Junior Finance Business Partner

About the Role: The Junior Finance Business Partner will support the finance function, provide insightful reporting, and proactively seek improvements. This role involves communication with stakeholders, production of financial reports, and assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.

Key Responsibilities:

Support Financial Reporting:

  • Assist in producing timely and accurate monthly management accounts and board pack content, including P&Ls, balance sheet packs, management information, and rolling forecasting.
  • Analyse P&L, variance analysis.
  • Support the Financial Controller in constructing the P&L pack.
  • Ensure month-end journals are processed timely and manage relevant reconciliations.
  • Prepare board pack slides on key metrics.
  • Undertake tasks with cash flow implications and regulatory requirements in mind (e.g., VAT).
  • Assist with elements of monthly forecasting and the annual budget process.
  • Handle ad hoc internal/external requests under the Financial Controller's direction.

Enhance Systems and Processes:

  • Identify opportunities to innovate and streamline document production in the finance function, including MI/board pack production, balance sheet reconciliation formatting, and P&L pack enhancements.
  • Support finance projects, such as software implementation or rationalization.
  • Engage in non-core finance projects, working with stakeholders to support projects that meet their needs.

Work Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Highly numerate with good analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Working towards an accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).

Additional Information:

  • Permanent role – 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9.00am – 5.30pm.
  • 3-month probationary period.
