College Health Practitioner

Hours - Full time (37hrs per week) for 38 weeks per year (Term time plus 2 training weeks)

Duration - Fixed term for 12 months

Salary - £36,406 (£31,225.15 pro-rata) per annum + benefits

About the Role

The key fundamental to this role is to promote Health and Wellbeing of all learners across the facility. You will plan and deliver a monthly Health Promotion Programme, tailored to address known relevant health issues, e.g. sexual health, healthy lifestyles, smoking etc. liaising with the Student Support Services and Marketing teams to maximise learner engagement with their programme. This is a truly rewarding role, which you can make your own through developing new initiatives and procedures to ensure all of our learners are happy and healthy whilst studying with us to be the most successful they can be.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • To be successful as a College Health Practitioner you will need experience of working within a medical or clinical health environment with a recognised clinical mental health or contraception and sexual health qualification as well as registration of a nurse or nurse practitioner
  • You will have experience of delivering learning/training to groups of young people and/or staff on health and wellbeing related topics
  • You will have experience of working as part of a team but also able to work independently
  • In addition to the vocational/professional industry qualifications, you will hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths or be willing to work towards
  • The role of College Health Practitioner will be part of the Safeguarding and Student Support Team, managed by the SEND and High Needs Manager
  • You will work collaboratively with different departments within college; including; Director of Campus, Curriculum teams and business support teams
