The Graduate:

  • At least a bachelor's degree in English Language, Literature, or a related subject.
  • A passion for the field of English and a drive to instil this into students aged 11-16.
  • Natural ability to build strong bonds with young people and colleagues.
  • Dedication to the education and wellbeing of KS3 and KS4 students.
  • Knowledge surrounding safeguarding processes and their importance.

The Role

As an English Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play an integral role in the education of students as they approach their English GCSE examinations. You will be a primary source of support for pupils in their English lessons and will provide both 1-2-1 and small group support as a means of raising attainment levels and improving students' school experience. You will be responsible for monitoring pupil progress and providing constructive feedback, alongside effective support strategies. In order to effectively work in close collaboration with teaching staff, it is vital that you form positive relationships with both students and colleagues and partake enthusiastically in activities with the wider school community.
