  • Monday - Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm

Veritas Education:

  • Veritas Education are working with a vast amount of primary schools across Lancashire predominantly in the Preston, Leyland & Chorley area (great public transport links and parking).
  • These schools are looking for dedicated and resilient graduate Teaching assistants with a psychology background to work in full and part time roles to begin ASAP and in September.
  • All schools are looking for candidates/staff that can positively impact their students learning and be a role model for them.
  • The positions involve supporting students within the primary school setting (key stage 1 & 2 - ages 3-11)
  • You will ideally have some sort of experience in working with young people, and have an interest in young people's development or seeking experience for a career in education/teaching/child psychologist).
  • Experience or knowledge in working with young people with learning difficulties would be beneficial. You will be empathetic, resilient, and confident with behaviour management.

Job Role:

  1. Working proactively to help students achieve their attainment levels
  2. Encourage students to engage proactively with their learning
  3. Helping to provide a safe environment for children to learn.
  4. Assisting the teacher in areas also including behaviour management, consistently promoting positive behaviour, and in assisting with their general learning and development.

Skills and experience:

  1. Recent psychology (or related subject - sport psychology, sociology, counselling) graduate
  2. Strong behaviour management
  3. Enthusiastic
  4. Resilient and patient
  5. Desirable: experience working with children or young adults
