Chichester College have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Lecturer in Foundation Learning at our Crawley campus. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £26,189 - £40,839 per annum, plus £610 Crawley Weighting Allowance.

The Lecturer in Foundation Learning role:

Are you passionate about delivering a curriculum that develops learners' independence skills and increases employment opportunities?

Our Foundation Learning team is seeking a motivated and experienced individual to support and teach a variety of topics to our learners. As a Lecturer in Foundation Learning, you will deliver sessions that allow learners to progress towards independence – building personal, social and work readiness skills that are vital for daily living. Your role as a Lecturer in Foundation Programmes truly can change our learners' lives through learning.

This is an exciting opportunity for an inspiring, dynamic and committed Lecturer who has relevant experience of supporting learners with additional needs and can use this to deliver a high quality and challenging learning experiences. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to motivate students with varied teaching and learning strategies with an emphasis on learners making excellent progress in every lesson.

Key Responsibilities of our Lecturer in Foundation Learning:

  • Undertaking teaching and learning related activities, including tutoring, as agreed.
  • Ensuring that appropriate learning materials are prepared and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner.
  • Undertaking administration and provide reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters.
  • Taking an active role in the achievement of high individual student retention and success rates, meeting or surpassing the relevant targets for each.
  • Develop curricula and learning activities, taking into consideration literacy and numeracy development, and equality and diversity.
  • Understanding personal responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding.
  • Keeping up-to-date with current issues, changes, and policies relating to the educational sector.
  • Participating in marketing activities and promote the College for the purpose of gaining sponsorship, advertising, good public relations and increased recruitment.

Our ideal Lecturer in Foundation Learning should have the below skills and experience:

  • Level 2 Numeracy and Literacy qualifications (or equivalent)
  • Working with learners with learning difficulties and disabilities, including students on the autistic spectrum and those on entry levels
  • Knowledge of the core curriculum at pre-entry and entry level
  • Time management skills, organisational skills and the ability to meet targets and deadlines
  • Innovative and creative in meeting the needs of learners
